As with some industries located on the shoreline, in order to reduce its dependence on water from the Municipal Water company, located in the Industrial area of Cilegon, near the Western tip of Java, Chandra Asri is among the largest Petrochemical Plants in Indonesia. In order to enchance their water security, Chandra Asri contracted Envitech to build a 10.000 m3/day Desalination Plant using Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) system. The desalinated water is further treared by a Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis System (BWRO) to achieve a purity suitable for high Pressure Boilers.
